Trip Facts
Yala peak Climbing Overview
Yala Peak climbing is an easy peak climb that does not require a climbing permit. Yala Peak (5732m/ 18,790ft) is located in Nepal's Langtang region and is classed in difficulty as grade facile/easy on the alpine grading system. The peak seldom climbed; when it has risen, it is used as a warm-up for Naya Kanga on the opposite side of the Kyanjin Gompa Valley.
Yala Peak is an excellent beginner climb and should be your first peak if you are new to the Himalayan scene. Yala Peak is the perfect peak for learning proper techniques with an ice axe, crampons, ascending/descending fixed ropes, and performing crevasse rescue. Yala peak climbing is a relatively simple and non-technical climb. The peak lies at 28°14'24''N and 85°37'32''E, which is next to Ruswa. Spring and autumn are the best seasons for Yala peak climbing, and this includes the months of April, May, September, October, and November. However, this peak can climb in the winter.
The Yala summit is renowned for being an excellent vantage point from which Shishapangma(8013m) can be seen. Shishapangma is the highest holy mountain in Tibet, and it is also the lowest of the 14 eight-thousand-meter mountains.
The approach to Yala peak winds its way through farmlands, villages, forests, and rivers. You will pass by beautiful forests of rhododendron, pines, bamboo, and several species of rare flowers during your trek. After passing this majestic scenery, you will join the narrow gorge of the Langtang River; immediately following that, you will ascend to the sizeable alpine grassland of Langtang (3500M/11,483ft) and Kyanjin Gumba (3800m/12,467ft.). It is at this point that the glacier meets the meadow. From this vantage point, you can see Yaks grazing; in the backdrop is the snowy peaks of Langtang Ri, Langtang Lirung, Dorjee Lakpa, and many other climbed and unnamed mountains. During the trek up to Yala Peak, you can explore the Langtang National Park, home to several groups of Tamangs. After acclimatizing at Tserko-re and exploring the glacier, you will hike to the Base Camp (4800m/15,748ft)from the base camp. You will have stunning views of many beautiful peaks, including Lantang Lirung (7246m/23,772ft), Lenpo Gang 7083m/23,238ft), and Dorje Lakpa (6990m/22,933ft).
The climbing consists of simple scrambling with a 25º slope, 180m of snow climbing on a 35-40º slope, and 650m of climbing on the summit day. The Yala Peak climbing route is 732m of elevation gain, consisting of non-technical scrambles and virtually no objective hazard. Satori will fix ropes on any section of the trail that has any trouble. This peak is perfect for any trekkers who have no mountaineering experience and want to add a little spice to their trekking itinerary in the Langtang region.
Satori Adventures offers full board services for Yala Peak. It includes experienced and professional trekking and climbing Sherpa guides, useful maps of the trekking and climbing route, and high-altitude food cooked freshly by our skilled expedition chefs. National park entry permits and TIMS included. The government of Nepal does not require a royalty fee or trekking permit for this peak. Satori Adventures will arrange your service form upon arrival in Kathmandu.

Good to Know
Satori Adventures and Expedition aims at giving proper information to many travelers, trekkers and climbers who have some confusion regarding the booking process of the trip in Nepal. Satori Adventures therefore desires to provide guideline for the first-time visitors or travelers so that they can comfortably start the process to book the selected package legally. Before starting the booking process we always advise our trekkers, travelers and climbers to intelligently check whether the company is genuine and whether they are fully safe to travel in the company’s guidance. We ask them to be acquainted with the company they want book their holiday trip with. Is the company genuine and authorized from Government of Nepal, Office of the Company Registrar, Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal Rastra Bank ‒Central Bank of Nepal (authorized for foreign currency), Permanent Account Number (PAN), and the Department of Cottage & Small Industries). Are they financially secured and environmentally conscious? We advise them to make sure about these formalities because there are some companies in Nepal that have been running business without abiding by the rules and regulation of the Government. Some companies were once registered but by now their licenses have already been expired and yet they have providing the services illegally.
On many occasions, Government of Nepal and Trekking Agency Association of Nepal have found that many foreigners’ tour operators, NGOs and INGOs have been involved in directly operating tours, trekking, and mountaineering holiday adventures without having government license and abiding by the Government rules. It has been also found that many individuals, freelance guides and porters have been arranging trips illegally by creating their own personal website. We have observed that many trekkers and climbers face a host of problems once they arrive in Kathmandu as they lack adequate information. Many of them file complaints to Government of Nepal and Trekking Agency Association of Nepal for legal action such as the refund of the advanced payment. There is hardly any justice given to the cheated clients. Thus, so as to prevent all these probable problems we request our travelers to check the company before booking any trip to the Himalayas.
